Les neuf pièces de l’album fonctionnent comme des organismes autonomes, chacun doté de sa propre respiration, de ses tensions internes et de son mouvement.
Les sons semblent provenir d’un environnement submergé, évoquant la découverte de vestiges d’une civilisation enfouie dans les fonds marins : architectures altérées, pulsations lentes, signaux lointains. Le synthétiseur modulaire est ici abordé comme un milieu vivant plutôt que comme un simple instrument, laissant apparaître des équilibres fragiles et des dérives contrôlées.
Des field recordings, fragments du monde réel, et les sons issus de la synthèse sonore s’entrelacent sans hiérarchie. De leur interaction naît une matière sonore instable, organique et minérale, brouillant volontairement la frontière entre sons captés et sons générés.
Totem Flotté ne raconte pas une histoire : il installe un espace d’écoute, entre archéologie imaginaire et exploration sonore, où chaque pièce devient une trace à explorer.
The album’s nine pieces function like autonomous organisms, each endowed with its own breath, internal tensions, and movement.
The sounds seem to reach us from a submerged environment, evoking the discovery of remnants from a civilization buried on the ocean floor: altered architectures, slow pulsations, distant signals. Here, the modular synthesizer is approached as a living environment rather than a simple instrument, revealing fragile balances and controlled drifts.
Field recordings—fragments of the real world—and sounds derived from sound synthesis intertwine without hierarchy. From their interaction emerges an unstable sonic material, both organic and mineral, deliberately blurring the boundary between captured sounds and generated ones.
Totem Flotté does not tell a story; it establishes a space for listening, somewhere between imaginary archaeology and sonic exploration, where each piece becomes a trace to be explored.
